CSA Set-Up Day

Saturday, April 30th

Help set up the CSA garden by the Frisco Transfer Center for the 2022 growing season!

Volunteers are needed to help install plastic tarps on the greenhouses. This role involves some light physical work: lifting and holding.

If you got a ladder, bring it! Lunch and snacks will be provided.

Compost Giveaway

Friday, May 20th

Residents enrolled in the free Food Scrap Program are invited to pick up complimentary High Country Compost from one of three locations throughout Summit County.

Volunteers are needed to help residents shovel compost into their bins/bags. Bring a bag to take some home too!

Free Recycling Event

Saturday, May 21st

Calling all recyclers! Summit County is holding its annual Recycling Event on Saturday, May 21st from 8 am – 2 pm. We need volunteers to help residents properly dispose of their electronics, paint, clothing and other hard-to-recycle items.

Duties may include directing traffic, unloading electronics and other items from vehicles, and general event support.

Frisco BBQ Challenge

June 17th & 18th

The High Country Conservation Center is proud to partner with the Town of Frisco for their Colorado BBQ Challenge as a zero waste event. This festival proves that you can eat great BBQ, have fun AND care for our beautiful mountain environment all at the same time!

Volunteers are the backbone to making this zero waste event a success by helping to educate festival-goers on what is recyclable and what is not. Volunteers receive an event t-shirt, food and drink tickets, and some good karma.

**Late shift volunteers will receive an HC3 schwag bag**

Keystone Bluegrass & Beer

August 6th & 7th

Join us as an event volunteer for the 25th Annual Keystone Bluegrass & Beer Festival benefiting the High Country Conservation Center.

Volunteers are needed for will-call, zero waste, wristbanding, greeters and more. Roles may change if event dictates other needs.

For volunteering, you will not only help raise money for HC3 but you will also receive a t-shirt, one complimentary drink ticket or 2 food tickets, plus a special discount to one day of the festival.

Become a Zero Waste Ambassador

Are you interested in conservation, reducing waste, and making a difference in your community? If so, we would love to talk with you!

Zero Waste Ambassadors are in-the-know recycling experts who share their knowledge with family, friends, and neighbors. They participate in quarterly training, help educate the public, and advocate for sustainability. As an ambassador, you will be a representative of HC3’s mission to promote practical solutions for waste reduction and resource conservation in Summit County! You’ll get first dibs on our most-fun recycling projects and you’ll help our community become leaders in zero waste. It’s a small time commitment and it’s an easy way to do what you do best – care!
