The Summit CSA runs for 16 weeks from late June through October. Each week members receive a box of organic produce, including heirloom varieties of common vegetables grown here in Summit County. CSA members do not choose what is in their weekly shares; we will provide you with an assortment of what is available throughout the season on the farm. Shares will also include recipes and information about the produce you receive. We encourage shareholders to share their personal recipes with us and with other members. If you have any questions regarding the program please send an email to info@staging.highcountryconservation.org or call (970) 668-5703.

Shares sell out quickly. If you are unable to secure a share for the 2022 season, please join the notification list for future seasons.

What is CSA?

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a partnership between local farmers and members of the community. The farmers agree to provide high-quality produce for members, who in turn agree to support the farmer by purchasing a farm share for the entire growing season. The mutual commitment is the core to this sustainable food model: the farm feeds the people, and the people support the farm.

The CSA requires full payment for a participant’s share at the beginning of the season to help with upfront operating costs of the farm. In certain instances a payment-plan option can be worked out for the season. It’s important for us to be able to offer exceptional, local produce that is affordable for all income levels.

Benefits of Joining a CSA

When you become a member of the Summit CSA, you will know who grows your food and where it comes from. Each week you’ll receive the freshest organic produce straight from our gardens to your kitchen. The Summit CSA helps to strengthen our community by creating a local and sustainable food system in the high country.

Through our weekly newsletter, CSA members receive updates on local events, volunteer options, recipes and more. You will also learn about rare and spectacular heirloom vegetable varieties as they become available throughout the season. Your membership is an active vote for the support and protection of small businesses and local agriculture. Be local, eat local.
