Slash, Yard Waste, and Wood

You can bring your slash and yard waste to the SCRAP for composting. Contaminated loads will be charged at the loose trash rate, along with applicable surcharges and additional hauling fees.

Green Yard Waste: $31/ton (minimum $10)
* No dirt, rocks, bags, noxious weeds, dog waste, sod, wood or slash accepted in this material.
Wood Slash: $12/ton (minimum $10)
Wood Stump: $35/ton (minimum $15)
Wood Chips: $5/ton (2 in. max diameter, minimum $5)

Slash and stumps must be separate loads for the lower rates (no dirt, rocks, or trash in load). Contact SCRAP for more info at (970) 468-9263 x 0. 

Christmas Trees

Instead of throwing your real Christmas tree in the trash, drop it off at any of these sites to be composted or burned. Make sure to remove all the ornaments, ribbons, lighting, and bases before you drop your tree off. Wreaths are not accepted.

The Town of Breckenridge: Stilson Lot (off of Stables Rd near Wellington). Trees are accepted through January 31 to be made into High Country Compost.

The Town of Dillon:
Town Hall Lot (next to shipping containers). Trees are accepted through January 31 to be made into High Country Compost.

The Town of Frisco: Frisco Bay Marina dirt lot (behind Uncle John’s Farm Stand and at the South East corner of Summit Blvd. and Main St). Trees accepted until noon Feb. 12 to be burned at the Spontaneous Combustion Bonfire.

Town of Silverthorne: Trees are accepted for Silverthorne residents after Christmas through January 31. Contact Silverthorne Public Works for more information at (970) 262-7346.


The Summit County Resource Allocation Park
(SCRAP) Landfill Rd in Keystone: Trees are accepted after Christmas through January 31, free of charge during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 7 am to 4 pm, and Saturday, 7 am to 12 pm. Trees are used in their composting program.
