TVs and computers are NOT appliances. Please see Electronics for information on these. Appliances accepted for recycling at the Summit County Resource Allocation Park only. Coolant in fridges and A/Cs, etc. must be removed by a certified technician and proper documentation provided at check in. Recycle up to 2 appliances for $10 each. 3 or more appliances are charged the scrap metal rate at $40/ton, $20 minimum. Call (970) 468-9263 x 0 with questions.
Working appliances in good condition:
- Earn rebates for recycling an old, working refrigerator or freezer through Xcel Energy.
- Post appliances for free or cheap on local Facebook Groups
- Place an ad in the Summit Daily News by calling (970) 668-9937. Short ads for items under $200 may be free.
